Play the Pap Attack! - 9…Nf3

Opening: C02: French: advanced variation

Player(s):

In the first three videos of this mini-series, we will have a theoretical part, and in the last 2, we will see some beautiful model games.

Here, I will present the 9...Nf3 line, where after 10.Nf3 black is at a crossroads, and he can try several options: 10...Bb5 tries to exchange some pieces very quickly; 10...Nh6, which looks a bit risky; the most commonly played move is 10...Ne7, which sounds logical. Black wants to finish his development ASAP, and claim that he is a pawn up! Anyway, white has various ideas to prove his full compensation for the pawn, and very often even more! Play is usually lively and dynamic, where white has room for creative play and improvisation.
