Improve Your Chess: Benko Gambit Upset

Opening: A43: Benko Gambit Declined

Player(s):

Today's show: White declines the Benko Gambit but his fianchetto variation does not impress. Black equalizes easily and takes the initiative. White makes a strange error for a 2000 player and Black gets a winning position. After a few back and forths, White reaches a rook and pawn endgame which he might draw, but he gets a little greedy and makes another, fatal, error.
