IM Valeri Lilov’s Openings for Attacking Players - Attack with the King’s Indian

Opening: E60, E99: King's Indian defense

Player(s):

Many chess players are often left with the question if there is an easy and yet efficient manner to get an attacking setup versus 1.d4. The answer is complicated. On the one hand, it depends on how white sets up his development; on the other hand, black is often left behind, quite passively maneuvering his pieces to complete his development.

The King's Indian Defense is an entirely different matter, though. With its closed and easy to follow development, it gives black the safety and time to prepare efficient positional and sometimes even tactical attacks to help turn the odds from the very early stage!
