GM Petrov’s 20 Endings you must master - Video 5: Mating with two Bishops

Opening: :

Player(s):

In this video, we will learn few essential endgames.
Starting with how to deliver mate with two bishops. It seems easy, but trust me, if you don't know the pattern, you might wonder for a while.
Then we move to some endgames with a bishop and a rook pawn. In general, to win, you need your pawn to be promoted on the square of the color of your bishop. But you will see that sometimes if the king can't reach the corner, the bishop can still do the job even if it is of the wrong color.
In the end, we will see how the rook can fight with the pawn, or how sometimes one or two pawns can even defeat the rook.
