In this video, we will see a few essential endgame techniques. The most famous idea of Richard Reti will show you that there is nothing impossible in the pawn endgames, and the king can sometimes make miracles to catch a distant passed pawn. The shortest route is ofter the diagonal. We will learn how to avoid the long and uncertain calculation by using the rule of the square. Also, a fundamental idea is how to break with the pawns without the king's help. Of course, we must know how to defend against such threats. When both kings have a similar route, it is imperative to know how to take advantage and remove the other king of the way with the so-called shouldering.
