GM Misa Pap - The Importance of Small Tactics in Endgames - Vd4: Piece isolation

Opening: B04, B22, B08: Alekhine's Defence: Modern Variation, Sicilian: Alapin Variation, Pirc: Classical (Two Knights) System

Player(s): Pap. Jeremic, Jankovic, Nostorovic

This is a helpful idea, which sometimes works in the middle game, but it is also crucial in endgames. If you can manage to somehow isolate the opponent's piece, temporarily or even better for good, then you should have a substantial advantage, if not just winning.
Because of this goal, it is worth investing some energy and maybe sacrificing some small material.
In this video, GM Misa shows how it works in a few examples and reflects on the game result - usually, you win if you manage to achieve this!
