Player(s): Sutovsky, Shirov

Three-time U.S. Champion GM Joel Benjamin brings you a new show every Friday at 15:00 Server Time. Joel is regarded by many as one of the best commentators and analysts' we have in the game today -- so if you want to get ahead of the game, get ready to tune-in!

It's been somewhat overshadowed by the FIDE World Cup that partially overlapped it, but the 2015 Karpov Poikovsky tournament has been a treasure trove of Game Of the Week candidates. The organizers have smartly invited players with reputations for enterprising play, and the players have delivered. Alexey Shirov is from Mikhail Tal's Latvian school of chess, and has been said to play on his own "planet" and create "fire on board." In this week's matchup, he may actually be the tamer player of the two, as Israeli grandmaster Emil Sutovsky is pretty much always pushing forward, with little regard for his safety. Their second round matchup, unsurprisingly produced quite a few sparks.
