Attack with LarryC: Supine Play invites Equine Slay

Opening: D34: QGD: Tarrasch, Réti variation

Player(s): Vladimirov, Vorotikov, Radulov, Spassov

In today's episode of Attack with LarryC!, GM Christiansen stigmatizes passive, insipid and supine play, that invariably leads to disaster or embarrassment, or, as Larry says "just leading to total crushing". As Larry's been doing recently, he shows us a delicious hors-d'oeuvre, with a little but stunning combination, from a game played in Leningrad in 1974. White plays passive and Black starts a nice combo sacrificing pieces and Queen, only to inevitably and ruthlessly checkmate his hopeless opponent. Enjoy this week's episode of the always entertaining show "Attack with LarryC!".
