Attack with LarryC: Attacking Lines for Attacking Players #3

Opening: D43: QGD: Anti-Botvinnik of semi-slav

Player(s): Sokolov, Dreev

In today's episode of his famous show "Attack with LarryC!" GM Christiansen takes on for us an interesting and complex game, in the anti-Botvinnik gambit of the smi-Slav variation of the Queen's Gambit declined. The game was played between Ivan Sokolov and Alexy Dreev, in Dos Hermanas 2011. This line is characterized by scrifices on both sides; the material seemingly is not a factor here: we have piece sacrifices, even long-term ones. It has been a raging and controversial line for 15-20 years now, with no verdict yet.
