Today is Grandmaster Eric Prié's birthday. He was born in Paris, France, on March 14, 1962.
A four-time Parisian champion, Eric became French champion in 1995. Prié represented France in three Olympiads and reached his peak rating in October 2007 with 2532 Elo points.
Eric is a specialist in blindfolded chess (with a record of 16 games played simultaneously). He's coached the best French players, such as Maxime Vachier-Lagrave, Laurent Fressinet, and Marie Sebag.
Prié is an expert on the Scandinavian Defense and the London system, and christened the Prié Attack (1.d4 d5 2.a3).
