Today is GM Liem Le Quang's birthday. He was born in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, on March 13, 1991.
Liem was the world champion under 14 in 2005 and the world blitz champion in 2013. He's won twice the national championship and, in 2019, the Asian championship.
These impressive results make Liem the strongest Vietnamese player of all time. He reached a whopping 2740 Elo points of rating in August 2023. 
His current rating of 2731 points places him in 19th position in the world.
Liem is a Senior FIDE Trainer, and since 2012, he's been the director of the Susan Polgar Institute for Chess Excellence (SPICE).
